One-day dream job challenge back by popular demand

Q. I read several months ago about your One-Day Dream Job Challenge and I was wondering if you will be offering it anytime soon.

A: This reader is referring to the challenge we conducted back in May, where 11 job seekers participated in a one-day event that resulted in 42 interviews booked. It was a huge success.

Ever since we ran the story, there has been a significant level of interest and as a result, we decided to offer the challenge for free at our website, www.1daydreamjobchallenge.org

We have also come up with the new idea of putting on a community event that would mobilize the city and benefit both job seekers and the business community. This article is to determine the level of interest on the part of the community. Here are the details.

Job seekers

Your biggest obstacle is standing out from the pack and potentially facing a slowing economy. This rally would be exciting with the potentially hundreds of people ready to have fun. Participants would be those looking for improved career opportunities.

This event can also be billed as exploratory for those who do not want to be seen as actively looking for new employment while currently on the job.

Businenesses

Your biggest challenge is the shortage of high demand job skills and the growing reduction of workers on the market.

Companies looking to be seen as supporting the community and local economy can sponsor the event. This is also an opportunity to be seen as an innovative firm wanting to attract top talent.

This event will be the hottest place to gain key market exposure. Great talent and companies will be on board.

The Board of Trade, Chamber of Commerce and even the Mayor’s office may be interested in supporting this community event.

Next Step

Respond to the e-mail below regarding your interest in such an event. We are also open to hearing your recommendations around how the event could work for you.
